Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Metacierge LLC dba Metacierge is committed to protecting your privacy and, collecting and managing user data according to the following Privacy policy. This document is part of Metacierge's Terms of Service, and by using http://www.metacierge.com (the “Platform” and the “Services”), you acknowledge that you accept the terms of this Privacy policy and the Terms of Service. Please read the Terms of Service in totality, and refer to them for definitions and contacts.

Data Collected

We collect data from every visitor to the Platform. We do this to fix bugs, glitches and monitor traffic. For instance, we collect information like web requests, the data sent in response to such requests, the Internet Protocol address, the browser type, the browser language, and a timestamp for the request.

We ask you to provide certain personal information (such as your name, your e-mail address, profession/vocation and residing state) in order to be able to save your profile and provide you with our Services.

You may register for an account by (a) providing certain personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) such as, and as applicable, your name, your e-mail address, postal address and your phone number, or (b) by allowing us to access your name and other profile information through existing accounts you may have on other sites including, but not limited to, Google, Facebook, Slack, or Dropbox (collectively, the “account websites”, and each of your profiles on such account websites, an “account profile”).

When you create a new account to use the Platform and the Services we will solicit your consent to connect your Google account to your new Metacierge account (using Google’s OAuth authentication method), thereby providing us with access to your Google account, including but not limited to email, contacts, and calendar and files. Although the OAuth authentication provides broad access to your Google account, Metacierge accesses and stores a subset of data from your Google account, including name, email address, calendar content, contacts, files and company domain directory, to provide you with our Services and access to the Platform.

We use cookies to store session information for your convenience. You are able to block or delete cookies and still be able to use Metacierge, although if you do so you will then be asked for your username and password every time you log in to the Platform.

 

We may receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with the Platform and/or the Services. We may choose to automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested. We use “cookies” to collect non-personal data and information.

Cookies are small text files a website uses to recognize repeat users, and is typically placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. The way cookies function is by assigning a number to the user that has no meaning outside of the assigning website.

 

You should be aware that we cannot control the use of cookies (or the resulting information) by our third-party partners. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. You can view, change and remove your data associated with your profile. If you would like to delete your account, please contact us via the web form on our Contact Us page, and we will follow up and take action on such request as soon as possible.
 

Minors and children should not use Metacierge. The Platform and the Services are intended for general audiences, and we do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from children. By using the Platform and the Services, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

Use of the Data

We only use your personal information to provide you with Metacierge's Services or to inform you about the Services or the Platform.

We deploy industry standard techniques and best practices in order to protect against unauthorized access of data about you that we store, including personal information.

Without your permission or consent, we do not share personal information you have provided to us, unless:

(a) we believe it's needed to enforce our Terms of Service, or that is legally required;

(b) doing so is appropriate to carry out your own request;

(c) we believe it's needed to detect, prevent or address fraud, technical or security issues and,

(d) otherwise protect our property, legal rights, or that of others.

 

Metacierge is headquartered in the San Francisco, California, United States of America. If you are visiting the Platform from outside the U.S., you consent to any processing of any personal information you provide us as stated in this policy.

Metacierge may contact you, by email or other means. For instance, Metacierge may send you newsletters or promotional emails relating to Metacierge, or other third parties Metacierge feels you might be interested in, or communicate with you about your use of the Metacierge Platform. Metacierge may also use technology to alert us by a confirmation email when you open an email from us.

 

You can change your email notification preferences by clicking the appropriate link included in the footer of email notifications. If you do not want to receive email from Metacierge , you can opt out of receiving emails at the bottom of any Metacierge emails or by editing your profile preferences.

Sharing of Data

To run and improve its services, Metacierge may use different third-party services (analytics providers/products) to obtain, compile and analyze information about how users are using and interacting with the website and/or the services.

These third party service providers may use a variety of tracking technologies or tools to recognize your device or computer and/or to collect or compile this information and the third party service providers rely on the data generated from activity on this website.

 

Metacierge has no control over any of the tools, technologies or practices of the third parties that provide these services (analytics products/ services) to Metacierge.

Below are the third-party services that Metacierge uses:

  • Google Analytics for understanding user behavior

  • Ascend Business Tools for sending emails to our users

 

From time to time, we at Metacierge may employ and contract with people and other entities to perform certain tasks on our behalf and who would be under our control (our “Agents”). In order to provide products or services to you, we may need to share personal information with our Agents.

 

Our Agents would not have any right to use Personal Information or other information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us, unless we tell you differently. You hereby acknowledge and consent to our sharing of Personal Information with our Agents as and when we employ them or use their services.

 

Metacierge may choose to buy or sell assets or carry out any other such transaction as necessary. User information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred in these types of transactions.

 

Additionally, if we, or substantially all of our assets, were acquired, or if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred to or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge and recognize that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of us or our assets may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

User Access Request as Per California Consumer Privacy Act Notice

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, California residents have rights to request access to certain personal data collected about them over the past 12 months, or deletion of their personal data, subject to certain exceptions, and may not be discriminated against because they exercise their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

We may require you to provide additional personal data to verify your identity before we process your request; we may not process your request if we are unable to verify your identity.

  • What personal information pertaining to the user is being processed

  • Why this information is being processed

  • Who has access to this personal information about the user

  • How this personal information is being used in automated decisions

  • What processes are using this information

We may amend or modify this Privacy policy at any time, at our sole discretion, as required. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy policy in effect at the time such information is used or collected. If we make major changes or modifications in the way we use or collect information, we will notify you by either posting an announcement on the Platform or sending you an email directly. A user is bound by any changes to the Privacy policy when he or she uses the Platform and the Services after such changes have been first posted.
